“The summer after our daughter's junior year of high school, she started receiving information from potential colleges. To better prepare, we attended seminars and received good information about statistics and percentages and test scores and academic requirements. We were supplied with websites where our daughter needed to upload her entire school, work, community and athletic history. We were given links to where her photo and vital information were recorded, along with where we could load her game videos. Armed with lots of information, we found ourselves still unsure of how to approach colleges and coaches. Our greatest concern was how to personalize it for our daughter so she could be matched with the right college -- one that provided what she needed academically and the opportunity to play volleyball.
When we contacted Bryan, our daughter, who would soon be a senior in high school, was feeling anxious. He met with us at a moment's notice and impressed us with his professionalism. Bryan began the consultation by asking our daughter what did she want to get out of her college experience. His one-to-one questions were all about our daughter's goals and designed to get the most of our time together. By the end of an hour, he had addressed all our questions as well as given us pointers to help our daughter personalize her search. She used that information, along with what we already had on hand, and is currently playing NAIA college volleyball. Bryan's expertise and knowledge was without a doubt the best help we received in the process. In fact, his own college/sports experiences, successes and failures, definitely gives him authority in the "dos and don'ts" of what to look for when choosing a school for college-bound athletes. We highly recommend Bryan McDermand as a college consultant.”
