Those athletes will get more bang for their buck...

“Having been involved in Club Volleyball for 19 years, we were fortunate enough to cross paths with Bryan McDermand. Bryan’s perspective on both sides as a former NCAA Collegiate Coach and as a recruitment assistance service was an invaluable tool for our athlete and parents. It was refreshing to see someone that is sincere and truly cares where aspiring athletes are heading for with their next chapter of the sport. I would highly encourage any athlete to utilize Bryan’s services. For the dollars spent, using his services, those athletes will get more bang for their buck.”
– Timothy J. Vande Schraaf, President/CEO of Eastside Volleyball Club, Inc.

Bryan did a get job of managing expectations...

“Bryan McDermand from Before Volleyball Consulting recently came to speak to our club athletes about general college athletics and the recruiting process. Bryan’s passion and attention to detail were evident throughout the presentation. He explained the major differences between every NCAA division, NAIA, and junior college options. Bryan did a great job of managing expectations as well as dispelling some preconceived ideas about each level. Even if your child is not planning on participating in college athletics, his presentation had several helpful tips, strategies, and websites for choosing the right school. After the talk, Bryan was available for group and individual Q&A sessions where he answered any and all questions thrown at him. All of the parents who attended were very complimentary and grateful for all of the information.”

He met with us at a moment's notice and impressed us with his professionalism.

“The summer after our daughter's junior year of high school, she started receiving information from potential colleges. To better prepare, we attended seminars and received good information about statistics and percentages and test scores and academic requirements. We were supplied with websites where our daughter needed to upload her entire school, work, community and athletic history. We were given links to where her photo and vital information were recorded, along with where we could load her game videos. Armed with lots of information, we found ourselves still unsure of how to approach colleges and coaches. Our greatest concern was how to personalize it for our daughter so she could be matched with the right college -- one that provided what she needed academically and the opportunity to play volleyball.

When we contacted Bryan, our daughter, who would soon be a senior in high school, was feeling anxious. He met with us at a moment's notice and impressed us with his professionalism. Bryan began the consultation by asking our daughter what did she want to get out of her college experience. His one-to-one questions were all about our daughter's goals and designed to get the most of our time together. By the end of an hour, he had addressed all our questions as well as given us pointers to help our daughter personalize her search. She used that information, along with what we already had on hand, and is currently playing NAIA college volleyball. Bryan's expertise and knowledge was without a doubt the best help we received in the process. In fact, his own college/sports experiences, successes and failures, definitely gives him authority in the "dos and don'ts" of what to look for when choosing a school for college-bound athletes. We highly recommend Bryan McDermand as a college consultant.”

I committed to a school that I'm excited about!

“When I sat down with Bryan I was totally lost - I had no idea what to take into consideration. He asked me a lot of questions about things I had never thought of. The process he gave me helped a lot, and a couple months later I committed to a school that I'm excited about!”
